Computer Fun

We have spoken a lot about the problems, pitfalls, and scary things that you might encounter when using your computer and the Internet. Although they are important, it should never take away from the fun you can also experience using your computer.

Computer fun is one of the biggest reasons to own one as far as we are concerned. We love our computers and discovering all the cool and fun things you can do with it, is enjoyable and relaxing.

Here’s a Project that You Can Do to Have Some Computer Fun!!

Here is one of our favorites: Making videos using your personal photos! This is one of the best ways to truly make your photos stand out from all the rest! This also means the end of photo slideshows!

Animoto’s free service allows you to use 8-15 photos and/or video clips, add text if you want and then you can add your music from a wide selection that they have or you can use your own. Then with a click of your mouse, Animoto will create your video. You can share your video using Facebook, Twitter plus other social sites, all with one mouse click. (You can also send an email with a link to your friends and family.)

If you’d like to use more than 15 photos, text and/or video clips, you can upgrade your account to their annual membership. This is a great deal to lengthen your videos considerably and it’s easy on the pocketbook. $30 dollars gets you an annual account and unlimited videos. If you use this Animoto referral code, it will take an additional $5 dollars off so then you are only paying $25 for an annual account.

Deb would have to say that she was a bit dubious when she heard that you could create a great looking video from her own photos and include background music. She was so pleasantly surprised when she saw a friend’s completed project. We’ve had a lot of fun seeing our photos turned into mini works of art.

Deb has even had more computer fun of her own when she created a video for her Mother’s 80th birthday. She gathered photos from her life beginning with her childhood up until the present day. She created a video that her mom just adores and which she plays over and over again. It was well worth the 10-15 minutes it took to put it together.

Here is a recent photo video slideshow Lee Ann created so you can see an example of the computer fun YOU can have.

Be careful as it can become addictive:)
